Turkish Cultural Center of New Jersey Brings Traditional Ebru Art to Local Communities

The Turkish Cultural Center of New Jersey (TCCNJ) recently organized two Ebru (Turkish Marbling Art) workshops at Fort Lee Public Library and St. Joseph's Hospital, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful and traditional forms of Turkish art.
Ebru, also known as Turkish water marbling, is a centuries-old art form in which colorful patterns are created by carefully applying paints to the surface of water and transferring the designs onto paper. Each piece is unique, reflecting the creativity and artistic expression of its creator.
During the hands-on workshops, participants were introduced to the history and techniques of Ebru painting. Under the guidance of instructors, attendees had the opportunity to experiment with colors, create their own designs, and take home their handmade artwork as a reminder of the experience.
Beyond learning a traditional art form, the workshops provided a welcoming environment for participants to connect, engage in meaningful conversations, and discover the richness of Turkish culture.
Promoting Cultural Exchange Through Art
As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting intercultural dialogue and community engagement, TCCNJ regularly organizes cultural and educational programs in collaboration with public libraries, community centers, schools, and other local institutions throughout New Jersey.
These Ebru workshops reflect the organization's belief that art can serve as a universal language, bringing people from different cultural backgrounds together and creating opportunities for friendship, mutual understanding, and social cohesion.
TCCNJ extends its sincere appreciation to Fort Lee Public Library and St. Joseph's Hospital for their partnership and hospitality, as well as to the instructors, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the success of these workshops.
The Turkish Cultural Center of New Jersey looks forward to continuing its collaboration with community institutions and sharing the beauty of Turkish art and culture with broader audiences.
Through art, culture, and shared experiences, we continue to build bridges of friendship and understanding across our communities.
